The Spacialists 3D Architectural visualization Process + What You Can Expect
SPACIALISTS follows a streamlined 3d architectural visualization process by which we develop stunning, real-life still perspectives, video, and interactive virtual reality experiences. Due to the technical intricacies of texture application, lighting, and post production effects, we prefer that alterations and adjustments be made in a specific order.
These steps were designed to deliver you the highest quality outcome possible while saving you time and money.
STEP 1: GATHER INFORMATION
Our first step in any project is to have a conversation with you and gather general requirements for execution. This can include attaining specific elements (elevations, floor plans, images) as well as just listening to you describe your project. We care a great deal about the feeling and spirit you wish to convey in your project. If your project involves interactive virtual reality (VR) or video, we will outline those interactions and create a high-level outline of these deliverables.
STEP 2: CONVERT SKETCHES TO 2D DIGITAL FORMAT
In the event plans or concepts are not submitted in a digital format, we will develop digital files for the project to ensure a strong foundation on which to build VR deliverables. These are particularly vital in projects requiring construction and in manufacturing. Unlike many traditional 3D rendering firms, SPACIALISTS focuses on providing 3D architectural visualizations that are true to life, of which scale is a primary component.
STEP 3: 3D STRUCTURAL PHASE/ GRAY SCALE PHASE
In this phase we model 2D files into a 3D virtual reality format. This includes creating structural components of the project. These include: walls, windows, doors, molding details, kitchen cabinets, light fixtures, and lighting conditions. In this phase we do not add furniture, colors, or decorative features. In some instances, clients will be asked to review and approve the structural components for accuracy before proceeding to the next project phase. This is more likely with large construction projects.
STEP 4: COLOR AND TEXTURE PHASE
During this phase we apply fabrics, floor coverings, artwork, finishes (paint colors, wood grains, granite/marble), electrical fixtures, and appliances. Clients receive image files for approval with these textures implemented. We typically offer two opportunities to make changes related to this phase.
STEP 5: ENHANCEMENTS AND INTERACTIVE CODING
Our final phase is all about post production and interactivity. Once you’ve approved your design, textures, and perspectives, we take special care to apply additional lighting, color corrections, and small details that will bring your images to life. Upon completion you will receive high resolution image(s) as a final deliverable. When receiving video or interactive virtual reality experiences, we will also code the output to generate high definition video or virtual reality experiences for onscreen or in-goggle use.
